As a research scientist, you will be working on sensing solutions in the context of ABB's next generation systems and products. We are looking for a team member with a proven research track record and the eagerness to transfer and apply world class academic research into an industrial environment. Research Team Manager
Your responsibilities
- Contribute to and lead research projects in industrial sensing addressing the needs of our businesses
- Generate research proposals for projects that turn state-of-the-art research results into effective solutions for ABB
- Develop technology concepts with business impact
- Evaluate new technologies and conduct technical surveys
- Disseminate your results in patent applications, scientific publications, and technical reports
- Build a network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise
Your background
- PhD university degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with industrial experience or equivalent academic track record
- Embedded electronics as main technical expertise with focus on signal processing
- Solid experience in prototyping, simulating, test, and validation of electronic designs
- Experience in any of the following fields is considered as a plus: analog front end, integration of sensors in existing products, and low power
- Strong interest in physics and sensing technologies
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to start on new topics
- Excellent communication skills and team player attitude
- Excellent command (written & oral) of the English language
